I’m one of the millions of Filipinos who exercised our right to vote yesterday. Like every other good citizen, I cast my vote, got my finger inked, and prayed for the best. I woke up this morning with hope, hope that at least a few of the opposition candidates would get a seat, but I only ended up heartbroken.

I was going to make a well composed post about why we should still fight a good fight as good citizens of this country, but I really felt down. So what did I do to try and cheer myself up?

I ATE MY FEELINGS.

I walked out of the office for my lunch break, and a few minutes later, my feet got me to Shake Shack.

Surprisingly, the queue wasn’t as long as it was last Friday. It took me about 15 minutes of lining up before i got to place my order, and another 25 minutes to get my food.

I initially just wanted the basic ShackBurger, but then I saw mushrooms. you know me and mushrooms, I just gotta have them shrooms. LOL Then I wanted fries, then maybe a drink. But then a milkshake would be too much for little me, so maybe next time. haha

Yeah, there’s a queue, but it’s manageable. As I said earlier, about 40 minutes total from the queuing to eating my order.

So here’s what I ordered:

The ShackStack (Php 545)

  • A cheeseburger and a ‘shroom burger topped with lettuce, tomato, and Shack sauce.
  • This was seriously so good, the patty is very juicy, and the portobello mushroom patty had ooey gooey cheese with umami flavor
  • and the veggies just balanced out the cheese and oiliness of the fried shroom

Crinkle-Cut Fries (Php 130)

  • you really can’t mess up fries. fried to perfection, and with a good serving size too

Calamansi Limeade (Php 130/S 160/L)

  • a local twist on a Shack classic lemonade
  • one of the Manila exclusives by Shake Shack
  • refreshing and locally sourced 🙂

  • All in all, I really enjoyed the food I tried, and will definitely be back for the rest of the Manila exclusives! Maybe bring my office friends so we can share. I just really needed some alone time earlier hahahaha

I love you Philippines, and I will forever strive to be a better citizen, even with today’s results. I just hope everyone in position can still be held accountable, and do think of the people who voted for them in the first place. 🙂
