“I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.” – Kurt Vonnegut
For lack of a better title, I just referred to the scene in this shoot. I was literally standing on the edge of a one storey elevation, and the ground was very unstable. I almost tripped a few times!
Anyway, after looking through these photos, I realized that this dress from fab2find is really flattering on me! At first I wan’t comfortable wearing something with a really low back for casual days out, but the print was beautiful, so I wore it anyway.
I was even really awkward at first. As the ground was really unstable, my foot got stuck in between rocks sometimes. One time my foot even sunk at a soft spot. Scary.
I was trying to be fierce, because I think smiling too much wouldn’t go well with the vibe of the dress, but I failed miserably.
In the end, I just kept laughing at the art direction my friend Harry was pushing for.
Then again, I tried. HAHA
With dresses with really low backs, you have to wear really good undergarments. You can’t wear a tube top because that would just ruin the back detail. My secret? I wore these stick on bras from White Label Intimates.
A lot of people ask if wearing stick ons make it uncomfortable. At first it does, because it doesn’t provide the support a usual bra does. But stick ons do the job. Also, there are other styles with extra support for the curvier ladies, and more padded ones for those who want the extra push.
Because my dress is printed, I opted to wear statement one tone accessories to finish my look. This necklace is very versatile, you can wear it with a casual outfit to jazz it up a bit, or with your LBD for extra oomph.
I especially recommend these bracelets from Shopaholic and Hubby as gifts for the Christmas season! They’re perfect as friendship bracelets. These actually say best friends when worn together.
Most days I feel like 24 hours are not enough to finish all the stuff I have to accomplish for the day. I think this is the same thing for most people, especially with women. Take our moms, aside from working to contribute to the family’s expenses, she comes home and also has to take care of household matters, as well as schooling for the little ones. Most of the time they lack sleep, or don’t sleep at all, depending on the demands of the day.
It is natural for women to take care of others, call it motherly instinct, or whatnot. But as they concentrate on the people they love, they tend to lose focus on their own lives. Some women even end up neglecting their own health and looks.
Your mom, your tita, your sister, or probably even you may be guilty of this. That is why Merck Philippines launched Sangobion Go Love Life – a campaign that aims to encourage every modern woman’s love for life.
Sangobion kicked of a lot of different activities and promos starting last March, all to encourage Filipinas to go out and rediscover the pleasures of life. Some contests were administered online, with Sangobion users pledging to take Sangobion everyday, to better engage in daily activities.
Last October 18, the winners of the online promo went on a shopping spree and had their own little fashion show at Shine Bakery & Café.
The winners went on a shopping spree each, and got to strut their stuff in a mini runway show inside the cafe.
It was one fun, fab, and fierce afternoon that inspired women to push the Go Love Life challenge, to make Sangobion part of their daily habits, and to continue living a healthy lifestyle.
More than all the glitz and glam, it was also an educational afternoon as Merck Head of Marketing for Consumer Healthcare Debbie Go and Sangobion brand manager Jio Igual gave tips on how women can look, feel, and be at their best despite their crazy schedules and responsibilities. They also highlighted how Sangobion can help women achieve their ‘better self.’
Taking Sangobion everyday can help boost your iron, so you can look and perform at your best. It has ferrous gluconate, an organic salt of iron that helps fight the different signs of iron deficiency such as paleness, fatigue, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration.
So what makes it different from other iron supplements?
Since its main ingredient is ferrous gluconate, the organic salt, it is said to be more absorbed in the body than the inorganic forms like ferrous sulfate. Each capsule is also chocolate-scented and leaves no metallic after-taste. More than iron, Sangobion also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese sulfate to build healthy red blood cells and immune system.
Always note that Sangobion is just a health supplement, it won’t be able to treat diseases, but it will help you with disease prevention. Also, only take the recommended dose to boost your every day activity. More than taking supplements and vitamins, make sure you also take some time to rest and recover. Set a schedule for uninterrupted me-time, and appreciate life for more than just your hectic workload.
Even if the spotlight may always be on your family or career, it is not an excuse to lose focus on yourself and to stop you from living the life you love. Keep on visiting the Sangobion Facebook page for updates. Go to www.facebook.com/SangobionGoLoveLife.
Also, check out the cute photos of Shine Bakery & Cafe, as well as the treats I got to try! I actually posted a review on Zomato for this. So check it out!
You don’t just stop with one interview, you need options! It’s a good idea to keep your options open once you start looking for a job. Sure, your dream job is the target, but you’ll never know, something better might come around.
I actually went to a job interview in this outfit. The company is into retail, and the attire is smart casual. Since the position I applied for isn’t a very aggressive one, I dressed with a more casual vibe. The general population in that office is also young, so I picked this print for that.
I didn’t wear heels because I anticipated a lot of walking. You have to be practical since it is very hot out, and the company might be in an area where it is inconvenient to commute.
Also, notice that my bag has this light blue thing inside, that’s actually my trustee expandable envelope. I put in it all the documents requested by the company, as well as extra certificates in case they look for them. A big bag like my Michael Kors tote would be great for keeping your documents, as well as your bulky makeup touch up bag for convenience, an umbrella and maybe a change of footwear in case it rains.
For this back shot I’d like to reiterate the importance of good undergarments. The back of the top half of this dress is actually sheer, only the front and bottom parts have lining. Anything revealing is a no-no for a job interview, you don’t want to turn off your potential boss. to solve this, basic tanks and tube tops can do the trick.
Lastly, don’t forget to flash that winning smile, a good disposition may be the only difference you have with the next interviewee. So smile!!
Tartan Dress: Forever 21
Tote bag: Michael Kors
After my interview, I was drained from the really hot weather so I dropped by TWG to try out the limited edition non traditional mooncakes! they were so good!!
Then, tada! I went cray cray and did silly embarrassing jumpshots, but I’m still posting this for all the world to see. 🙂

Every year end season, I look forward to the abundant choices for planners everywhere. The most popular ones actually come from coffee shops, with beverage stamp collecting as the norm for claiming of each planner.
This season, I’m looking forward to the Coffee bean and Tea Leaf’s The Giving Journal for 2015. I noticed that they really improved their design this time around, opting for generally well-received colors like green, lavender, orange and brown, and earthy details, perfect for the hipster lifestyle/Instagram-obsessed population of today.
Since first opening its doors in the Philippines, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® has made community building and giving back critically important components of its company philosophy.
True to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® commitment to engage its loyal and discriminating customers in an authentic and meaningful way, attendees of the launch were treated to a fun afternoon of crafting with a wire bookmark workshop.
Everyone had fun squeezing out creative juices and handy craftsmanship in making each wire masterpiece. I used to make fancy beaded jewelry in high school, so I had an idea about manipulating wire. Of course making out words and images using wire made it more complicated, but I had fun anyway.
Spot Alyssa and I at the bottom of the collage teacher Anagon made.
For my waire art, I decided to create the word believe. I thought believe would be my inspiration for 2015, to believe in myself more, and believe in other people as well. I also made a bookmark with my name on it for fun, I just had to add that star at the end.
The Giving Journal
Every year, in the months leading up to Christmas, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® releases its coveted Giving Journal around a holiday campaign benefiting the Real Life Foundation, and every year, the company makes it a goal to create something better than the last, constantly evolving the journal to share the company’s passion for GIVING, SHARING, and COMMUNITY.
For 2015, the theme of the Giving Journal is to provide the inspiration to create OVERFLOWS in one’s life. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® desires for all of us to thrive and live in abundance when it comes to developing personal fulfillment & growth, strong relationships, and a joyful spirituality. To give to others, one must first have something to give, and the Giving Journal empowers us to become the best versions of ourselves.
The essence of OVERFLOW is captured in a poem highlighted in the Journal:
I choose to grow each day To be purposeful at work and play And throughout life’s highs and lows I choose a life that overflows I choose to take steps forward To make sure each day is fully explored And whether I meet with joys or sorrows I choose a life that overflows I know that no diligence is wasted That little by little goes far when added I know that goodness echoes So I choose a life that overflows Someday I’ll look back At my well-traveled track I’ll beam because my heart knows I chose a life that overflows
I never appreciated the word OVERFLOW before, but I do now. It used to sound negative to me, that being excessive is not a good thing. After this poem, it changed my perspective, it tells of living life, loving it, and giving it all the chances it needs.
The Real LIFE Foundation
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brings the spirit of the Giving Journal to life through partnerships with various social organizations and championing volunteerism through their Customers and Team Members. The company has raised more than P10M for a number of advocacies since 2008, but more importantly, has been able to create much needed awareness for truly worthy endeavors like Habitat for Humanity and Real LIFE Foundation. Through LIFE scholarships, poor but deserving scholars are given the material and financial assistance they need to finish their high school and college degrees. The scholarships are supplemented by LIFE coaching, where mentors help equip scholars with the values and skills they will need to succeed in the real world.
Ferdie Javier (shown above) was a Real Life Foundation Scholar, and is proud to be one. You can sense his passion when he told us that CBTL and Real Life have helped him become the holistic well-educated engineer that he is. He is the first in his family to graduate from college, and also the first engineer. He also attributes his good manners and readiness for life with the life coaching he got from the foundation, making sure that he is able to catch up, adjust, and eventually lead in his chosen path.
These scholar-graduates become living examples of what the program stands for: Leadership, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence. Since its humble beginnings, the Real LIFE Foundation has financially assisted more than 1,000 scholars and produced over 200 university graduates.

“The concept is very simple—it’s about reminding people that they can make a huge difference in their own and other people’s lives by growing to become the best version of themselves—to realize that their lives are brimming with opportunities to share and then prompt them to give back,” says Walden Chu, CEO of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® in the Philippines. “As we all look forward to 2015, it is my sincere prayer that the Giving Journal can help all of us brew our best year, and that we will always be moved to love, give and serve.”
Here are the four colors for the Giving Journal 2015, the stamp cards are already available since October 25, 2014, so start collecting now!!
Thank you @cbtlph for having me! Can’t wait to get my hands on my Giving Journal 2015!
“Being glamorous is about strength and confidence. It’s black and white – dramatic. You have to be strong.” -Catherine Zeta-Jones
The title of this post actually came from a friend’s comment when I posted this look on Instagram. I guess you could say this look is both sexy and glamorous, with the thigh high slit and the gold details.
Anyway, this look is perfect for TGIF or GNO moments. Especially for girls’ night out, you should dress for yourself, what you look good in, and not what you think will please others. After all, when you go for GNOs, you’re out there to have fun, and scoring a date while at it is just a plus.
For this one, I actually wore my top backwards. In this post, I wore it the right way, notice that it has a smaller keyhole. To add to the drama, I wore it backwards for a deeper keyhole in front.
Since this is intended for a night event anyway, I went with some skin with this thigh high slit skirt.
To finish the look, I added my favorite envelope clutch and Zara heels.
Also, red lips did the trick of adding a little more attitude to the already strong look.
Tada! My GNO look. What’s yours?

Don’t forget to join my ongoing giveaway with GIBI!
Last August 24, 2014, I went to the country’s celebrated All Season All Occasion Shoes event, GIBI Shoes Fun Day held at the Trinoma Activity Center.
It was filled with performances and surprises from GIBI Shoes endorsers Ella Cruz, Nadine Samonte and Xian Lim. GIBI Shoes also revealed the #MysteryGIBILady to be the newest endorser.
The program started with an energetic dance number by this crew.
Then the hosts came out, the famous duo, Chico and Delamar!
Then out came each endorser with a number of their own.
Ella Cruz danced and sang to Taylor Swift’s Trouble. Then after, some lucky fans got to share the stage with her for a dance challenge.
Then Nadine Samonte came out and did her rendition of Bruno Mars’ Just the Way You Are. After that she did an acting challenge with lucky fans.
Then, the big reveal, Jasmine Curtis-Smith comes out to be the #MysteryGibiGirl! She sang Nicki Minaj’s Superbass and did it justice! I loved her energy and how she winged that rap part!
After that fans got to rap with her for the challenge. I loved how game she was with interacting with each contestant!
Lastly Xian Lim serenaded the crowd and gave away this cute GIBI Teddy Bear, and also had this pickup line challenge with fans as well.
The program ended with each one describing their favorite GIBI shoes, and why each one fits their style.
“Hindi siya mahirap ternuhan sa damit, I love that its colorful and it is made perfect for teens” –Ella
Teens like Ella love fashion, colors and are carefree. As a brand that’s been with you since grade school, GIBI understand the change towards being a teen. That’s why colorful, comfortable and hip shoes young ladies will love the style of GIBI shoes. And Ella best represents the dynamic world young and cheerful like her wants. Teens have a lot of choices from our array, be it for school, drama club requirements, wedges for weekend movie dates and party wear.
“It’s sophisticated, classy, elegant and very simple” -Nadine
Nadine as a person and an actress also symbolizes simplicity, practicality and sincerity. Just like the brand, they may offer stylish, up to date designs but not so much that one can be intimidated to wear them. In terms of looks also, Nadine can carry different styles from casual, dainty, a bit of sporty to sophisticated, where GIBI surely has a pair that fits.
“This is the very first style of GIBI shoes I wore at the pictorial so this is a very memorable pair for me.” -Xian
In this partnership, Gibi and Xian intend to encourage and enlighten everyone that premium, stylish but classic pairs in genuine leather (all Gibi Men’s shoes are in genuine leather) need not be expensive. It is best to invest in a good, quality pair that will last, a pair that can be worn in several occasions and worth every peso.
“Symbolizes freshness like water, its a fresh color and youthful so its perfect for me and that I can wear it with whatever I want to wear, I love that the color will just pop out.”- Jasmine
As a brand, GIBI is very much like Jasmine. GIBI Shoes are stylishly wearable, simple chic, comfortable & all are of quality. Every pair gives every wearer the confidence, certainty of quality and value for money. For someone like Jasmine who’s interested to learn more, exploring the world ahead and loving life, GIBI Shoes is her perfect shoe partner. Gibi’s wide array of styles can be paired with Jasmine’s different looks, a pair for her every need. Cushioned comfy flats for long hours of taping, shimmery stiletto for awards nights & pumps for sophisticated get-up, pretty sandals & wedges for casual days and the list goes on.
Of course I couldn’t leave the event without having a photo taken with the dashing Xian Lim. I was a little bit disappointed that he wasn’t very accomodating, unlike the girls, who posed and smiled like pros.
I will never ever ever ever stop wearing colors. If you guys noticed, I rarely wear just black and white, I always add a punch of color here there.
The weather nowadays is just crazy, really really hot during the day, then rainy in the late afternoons. You have to layer strategically or risk wearing something inappropriate and not worth the hassle.
For this particular look, I stuck to this skirt and light breezy top combo to keep me fresh for the really hot day. Then when it rains, I’ll just bundle up in my cardigan, and open my handy umbrella.
Because it was really really hot, I couldn’t resist getting a cold drink between shoots to keep me hydrated and cool. Haha. Check out these random poses while drinking my cold UCC milk tea.
Out of sheer randomness, I posed Vogue style. haha Do you get that high fashoooown vibe? No? I thought so too. HAHA
Anyway, it was also the first time I took out my these peach frosted frame sunglasses from Sunnies Studios. I must say that this pair is effortlessly chic, yes?
Tip for shoots: use the props around you. Since I was shooting at a cafe anyway, I made use of the photogenic chairs.
As to my outfit, it’s a pretty simple formula, don’t you think? Simple top + printed skirt + cute comfy sneakers. Doesn’t that remind you of Taylor Swift’s Keds campaigns though?

Max’s recently relaunched its delivery service, with new uniforms for the riders, as well as a campaign centered on delighting its customers. After almost 70 years of bringing joy to generations of Filipinos with classic Filipino dishes, Max’s wishes to bring this experience to more people with the revamped delivery service.
At the event, I was actually disappointed to find that they didn’t serve Max’s famous crispy chicken, I was really looking forward to that. Still, the food weas good, especially the roast beef.
Everyone was entertained by these three, I don’t know how they do it, but they never seem to run out of energy.
Next up was dessert, I really enjoyed the chocolate dessert, It was something between a mousse and a melt in your mouth brownie.
Iya Villania was the host of the night, and I just love her! She had even more energy than the previous singers.
One of the highlights of the night was awarding Max’s Quezon City Circle branch as the 1 Million Delivery Services Awardee. Like wow. 1M, that’s a lot of chicken delivered.
The other highlight would be True Faith singing Max’s new campaign jingle entitled, Delight. True Faith still sounded good after all these years.
I also enjoyed this number by dancers dressed up as riders, with their colorful LED costumes!
The last part of the program was when the riders came forward and did a fashion show!! My seatmate laughingly told me that this was my department.
I applaud the Max’s creative team with coming up with the new uniforms! They look so in for fall!
I was also very surprised that the riders for the delivery service had this very lengthy pledge to recite at the program. Such dedication. Good job guys.
Congratulations Max’s for a successful relaunch!
Max’s posted double digit growth in the first half of 2014 and is aiming to sustain this percentage by yearend. Max’s continues to beef up its delivery style by offering better choices and bundle promos in all of its 95 delivery stores nationwide. Don’t forget, if you find the urge to order their crispy chicken and the other great Filipino dishes, just dial 7-9000, Max’s official delivery hotline. Again, 7-9000!!

This set of photos were taken by my talented friend, Timothy Duenas. It was an afternoon filled with talks about our career, being both pharmacists, and our passions. It has been a long time since Tim has done shoots, so when we finally met after a lot of rescheduling, we both had a lot of fun.
Tim and I walked around Makati for the whole afternoon, looking for great spots to shoot. I even climbed up a tree to get a great photo. I was so thankful I brought these Bensimon sneakers that day, otherwise, my feet would have died from our Makati adventure.
If you guys have noticed, I’ve been wearing this cloud pair a lot lately. It’s my comfiest pair of footwear so far, and ever since I got these, I have ignored my Converse pairs, and other similar sneakers. With its very simple design, paired with great quality and function, Bensimon sneakers are versatile. More than being casual, I’ve worn these with a chic dress for a night out, and a leather jacket for a grunge look.
Each pair, and note that no two are made exactly alike, can cross the line between formal and informal, casual and luxe—and Bensimon’s seemingly inherent ability to do so has become renowned. It has become a staple for Parisian sartorialists who understand that style is about finding the confidence to make it your own, no matter how imperfect it may be.
Its versatility is actually the best way to express yourself, to showcase what’s different about your fashion sense, to highlight your personality and to bring focus to your distinct eye for what works and what doesn’t. After all, through the years of fashion evolution, the world has finally arrived at a point where trends have taken a backseat to make room for lasting style.
Maybe it’s a way of standing up to the fads that come and go decade after decade. Or it could be a simple acknowledgement of the reality that style has to answer to the functional as well as fashionable inclinations of its wearer. Either way, it’s a welcome shift from the precision that fashion always seemed to strive for—but one that looks like is here to stay.
Bensimon sneakers are currently available at: Rustan’s (Makati, Alabang Town Center, Shangri-La, Gateway), CommonThread (Greenbelt, PowerPlant) and at SM Aura department store.
Now back to my shoot.
For this set we went to Ayala Triangle Gardens, and made use of the natural lighting, and shadows of the trees. Tim then tweaked the photos with Lightroom. I loved how artsy they turned out.
This one was difficult for Tim to take because the light kept changing. He was going for little girl under the big tree look, so this was what we came up with. What do you think? I’ll post more from Tim as soon as he finishes with everything.

Superdry opened its newest store in Bonifacio High Street Central Mall just in time for the launch of their AW 2014 collection. The Superdry AW 2014 collection is the brand’s strongest collection to date, boasting of different textures, patterns, and materials, all the while paying attention to quality and detail.
Adorned pieces, luxe leather, and artisan selvedge denim dominate the AW 2014 collection, showing the brand’s strength in edgy, straightforward styles.
For the women’s line, Superdry takes biker chic to the next level with panelled Biker Super Skinny jeans and luxurious leather biker jackets. Soft shearling, fringe, and luxe touches of hand beading, metallic embellishments, ups the boho winter vibe, while keeping in the chic subtle glamour in their casual pieces.
I personally love the long coats with shoulder and cuff embellishments. Definitely statements pieces for the season.
At the new store, the centerpiece is this huge installation of mason jars with lightbulbs, as the modern chandelier.
For the menswear collection, the focus is on timeless sartorial style, exemplified in classic cuts but with luxury materials, weights, and textures. Expect a lot of denim, leather, and a few gym equipment inspired pieces, for that signature streetwear style.
I’m loving the look of this store, better than the one in Shangri-La Mall.
DJ Callum David also played at the store launch, can we just stop and talk about how cute he is? haha.
I love this ombre dyed high cut sneaker, too bad this style is only available for the boys.
Thank you Superdry, and Nuffnang Philippines for having me! I had a lot of fun with everyone!
I also spotted Filipino drama actor Luis Alandy as one of the guests in the launch. This one was taken while he was fitting clothes. Everything he tried on looked so great on him!
The new Superdry store is located at:
3rd Floor Bonifacio High Street Central Mall
Also, I picked these pieces which I loved from their latest collection!
