Because I was going to watch SM Men’s Fashion that day, I decided to wear something menswear inspired. I couldn’t wait to wear this tiger print velvet muscle tee out, so I built my outfit around the tee.
Since the color of the tee gave off an opulent vibe, I decided to pair it up with an equally flashy bottom, sparkly shorts! To top it off, I added a leather jacket to toughen up the look. I honestly don’t think I do edgy well, but I think this works for me, yeah?
Can you believe that these shoes are locally made? and that they are made in partnership with the women of Baseco? More about these shoes soon 🙂 In the meantime, check out Habi Footwear’s Facebook Page to know more about this outsanding brand. 🙂
On Day 2 of PhFW, I found myself watching all three shows on that day. It was rather tiring as since we were just part of the regular seating, we had to line up early for each show to get good seats. Anyhoo, we enjoyed ourselves anyway, so I’m not complaining. 🙂
Before I forget, thank you Rocio for my invites 🙂 I had a great time, especially enjoyed ourselves with the yummy food at the SM Men’s Fashion show. 🙂
Knowing me, I told Alyssa that we should go and get our makeup done at the L’Oreal Lounge. It turned out to be a really great idea, because Alyssa loved how her makeup turned out. 🙂 I loved my makeup too, but better wait for my next post to get a closer look of the face! haha.
Now, presenting, the Sony presents show. I noticed that Sony has consistently been in the Fashion Week lineup for years now, and they never fail to make a statement intro during their show. This time, they featured their tablets, which is timely, since everyone around me seems to own an iPad. I think Pinoys are now tablet crazy, don’t you think so too?
Dax Bayani opened the show with swimwear screaming, wear me! The colors were soooo right for the beach, plus, you can never go wrong with neons, animal prints, and fun prints, when it comes to beach fashion.
Lizanne Cua showcased her passion for clean lines and simple sillhouettes once again. This being her signature, she never failed to flatter the female figure.
Tailored suits in bright colors and eye-catching prints make up Melchor Guinto’s Spring Summer 2013 collection. If only the men in my life cared about the way they dress, I would definitely push them to wear a bright suit at one of those posh functions at hotels during the summer.
Finally, Sassa Jimenez closed the show with my favorite trend, some print on print action. I have always admired Sassa Jimenez’s designs, I find that in every collection, there is a piece for everyone. She always has that tasteful mix of textures & prints, with pieces that look good, both on a model, and on a regular person, kudos to that.
And notice the headphones? they’re from Monster headphones, she designed the interchangeable headbands herself. 🙂
Next up, SM Men’s Fashion. I’m sure most of you are aware that I am part of the Top 10 for SM-Youth.com’s University Campus Icon Contest, (click this for my entry if you haven’t voted for me yet :)), and because SM Men’s fashion is actually behind the said contest, I got an invite to this show. It was nice drooling over the hot models strutting on the runway. Gah. eyecandy much?
And say hello to Randy! he’s actually my brother’s HS classmate, who now models on the side. And, proving how small the world really is, he was also my Hospital Pharmacy professor’s classmate while both of them were doing the weekend courses at Master’s School for Models.
I loved everything! especially the designer collaborations, will definitely get myself a piece or two from these collections once I get my GCs from SM. 🙂
Last show for the night, another set of designers, with fab fab collections.
Gerry Katigbak started out with whites, then grays, then eventually black, all neutral hues, but his designs keep the pieces far from boring. At first, everything was dainty, conservative, and practical, but things get exciting when suddenly, swimsuits with sharp contrasts and shapes, and cutouts appear, showing the designer’s versatility.
I always look forward to Jun Jun Cambe’s collection every season, as the designer has a very unique aesthetic, and comes up with distinct themes each time too. This time, he was very much inspired by the colorful dynamic world of Flamenco.
I couldn’t get over this one, the model was just clad in body paint! she’s practically naked!
Now onto some randome photos of the friends I was with 🙂
Of course you guys know Alyssa, you see her more often than anybody else in this blog. 🙂
My HS friend Lady! who’s sister is Say Artillero, fab makeup guru on Youtube
Aaand, Sef Tiburcio, Hello lookbook famouse friend! 🙂
I had the privilege of attending Futureworld Philippines’ second branch opening at Cyberzone, SM Masinag. Being a bit of an Apple fan, I eagerly trooped to the venue, hoping to see the new apple products everyone’s hyping about. Sadly, Futureworld isn’t offering the new line, yet. However, the brand manager has assured everyone that the latest line of Apple products will be made available this December, if not, early next year.
When going to functions such as this, I make it a point to dress in smart casual, or something like it, as the event was neither casual or formal. Plus, I was raring to wear this pair of floral pants ever since my mom gave it to me after her recent trip to Shanghai, so, the event was definitely a good reason to dress up.
When working with prints, I always make it a point to wear items of the same color family, so as not to overwhelm the whole look. For example, in this outfit, I took the blush pink and nudes of the flowers, and used those colors to determine what top and shoes I was going to wear. It ended up being a sweet looking outfit, but not too casual for the event. What do you think, was my look event appropriate?
Aaaand, before you guys move on to the next post, read on to know more about FutureWorld.
Futureworld, Authorized Apple Reseller and the newest player in the Philippine technology retail industry, has announced the opening of its first two branches in Metro Manila this year, with plans to expand in other key cities nationwide.
My sister has always wanted a Macbook for one purpose only, its Photobooth app! I had nothing to do while waiting for the other guests to arrive, so I camwhored away. 🙂
Note: the ANC, ABS-CBN, and TV5 video cameras were actually filming me hamming it up, so if ever you see my wacky face on TV, don’t get surprised. haha
with Celebrity Guest, Kelly Misa-Fernandez
Owing to the recent economic growth surge in Asia and the favorable market demand for consumer technology products in the country, Futureworld aims to become a leading retailer not only in the Philippines but also in the region.
Ribbon cutting time!
“Filipino consumers are very exciting and tech driven—iPhones, iPads, and other mobile devices are used everyday not just for Internet connectivity but for a breadth of other purposes like entertainment and productivity. For tech start-ups, this is a good country to be in,” says Anthony Perreau, Regional Representative of Futureworld.
Under the trade name Futureworld One Philippines, Inc., the new stores would carry the complete line-up of Apple hardware and software, while also having exclusive distribution rights to accessories such as earphone organizer Onanoff, iOs compatible weighing scale and blood pressure monitor Withings, Incipio cases, cycling power meters like iBike, and a complete line of organization accessories from Cocoon.
Senolos adds, “Aside from the superb product line-up, our staff who man the stores all attended Apple-conducted trainings. Those who are fairly new to the Apple platform can surely expect thorough assistance and support from our team.”
Futureworld branches are located at 2F Cyberzone SM City Masinag Marcos Highway Brgy. Mayamot Antipolo City and SM Bicutan 2F Building B Dona Soledad Avenue, Brgy. Don Bosco, Bicutan Paranaque City.
Hey everyone! If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll notice that I keep tweeting about my SM Youth University Campus Icon entry, and that you should keep voting for me. Well, the reason why I’ve been so vigilant about it is because the 25000 pesos prize money for charity will go a long way for my student council’s outreach program in March 2013.
The outreach program will be held in a small community in Nueva Ecija, where there will be talks on hygiene and sanitation, rational drug use, the promotion of herbal medicines (use of backyard plants/common plants as medication), as well as games, presentations, so that everyone, including the illiterate will be able to learn from us. I hope you support our cause. 🙂

This year, Greenhills signals another festive Christmas celebration in Metro Manila with its landmark, 10th anniversary Christmas on Display (COD) presentation, which kicks-off on 16 November 2012. Fashion Week is that time of the year when I always exclaim, “Ubusan na naman ng damit!” Or “I don’t have anything to wear!” Because no matter how many times I stock up on clothes, I always seem to have nothing to wear. Haha
In times of crisis like this, I always resort to, reorganizing my wardrobe, hoping to find pieces that I forgot I own, or pieces I haven’t worn for a long time, but still work.
This outfit is actually a hodgepodge of everything I’ve worn before. Yes, I am an outfit repeater, and I am not ashamed of it. We should all take cues from the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, who is fashionably fearless. 🙂
I have always been fascinated by things I don’t see. For example, the backstage craziness that happens before, during and after a fashion show. In these events, it’s actually what happens behind the scenes that intrigues me the most. The conceptualization, to the creation of the pieces, to the actual execution, from the models, to the makeup, down to the shoes and accessories, the whole shebang is just amazing. I love the whole dazzle of the fashion industry, and I love that this blog has enabled me to have a bit of that.
If you’ve been following me in Instagram, you’d notice that I won from L’Oreal Paris PH Instagram #GiveInToColor Giveaway for PH Fashion Week. Along with invites to the L’Oreal Presents Albert Andrada and Ezra Santos show, I was also given backstage passes to the makeup room. Read on to see my fab experience, actually seeing the makeup magic happen.
A look from Ezra Santos’ collection for L’Oreal. Don’t you just love the back detail?
Before I get to the bulk of this post, a L’Oreal Lounge was actually set up for the whole duration of PH Fashion Week. Anyone can just go there and get themselves a makeover, from the capable hands of the L’Oreal girls.
I’ll let you guys in on a secret, I actually went and had my makeup done at the L’Oreal Lounge for three out of the four days that I attended PHFW shows. Teehee. You guys all know that I am pretty incompetent when it comes to makeup, and the only look I can do well, is the smoky eye. That smoky eye, I learned from watching various tutorials on YouTube. Haha. Basically, everything I know of makeup, I found from beauty vloggers on YouTube. Thank God for YouTube! So yeah, I purposely went to SMX early (about 1.5 hours before the show I’ll be watching) just so I can go and have my makeup done. Sayang naman kasi ang fashown na outfit kung fail ang makeup diba? Agree?
Since we were being given a really great time by the good people behind L’Oreal, they also asked us to hang around the lounge for a while and eat! A girl like me won’t say no to good food, especially when it’s catering from Bizu.
Say hello to my sister, who I tag along to events when none of my friends want to go with me, hoho.
And noooooow, say hello to the L’Oreal Paris Makeup Room…
This was actually one of the first things I noticed when we entered the room, each counter had this pasted on top. Reminding the whole makeup team the looks for each designer.
Spot Ford Supermodel of the World Danica Magpantay, I see her in almost every show!
The makeup room wasn’t actually as crazy as I imagined, but it was amazing seeing the artists in action. 🙂
After the tour of the makeup room, off we went to the actual fashion show.
Love this runway setup, Proudly Pinoy!
Presenting, Albert Andrada:
Albert Andrada’s pastel wonderland boasted of laces and luxurious pieces, fir for the modern day powerful woman. The collection is very characteristic of the designer, as he is Dubai-based and well versed in the glamorous sophisticated world of Dubai.
then Ezra Santos
Ezra Santos’s collection reminded me of a seascape, of the beautiful sandy beaches that our country is proud of. The collection is the delicate interpretation of rock formation, sandy landscapes, seashells, translated to laces, sequins, tulle, and other materials. Opulence is key to the collection, where each piece would definitely stand out in a function.
All in all, the show was a delight to the senses, bringing the glamorous Dubai aesthetic, to the Philippine runway. I’m sure everyone in the crowd is proud of these two internationally renowned designers.
Say hello to blogger friends Karl and Rovie, hello!
Spot these cute gorilla kicks! I asked for a photo of this guy because I found his look very nice. (I’ll cite him properly when I find his site :))
Finally! A decent blogpost in weeks! Thank you all for always supporting this blog 🙂
Thank God Shop Nita sent me this dress just a few days before. Not only did I have a dress to wear to the aforementioned event, it was also perfect for my next agenda that day. I also had to go to CCP after, to watch Phantom of the Opera, so this dress was perfect since the attire when watching plays was smart casual. Talk about being multi-purpose, this dress is definitely a keeper. And oh, don’t you just love the back cutout? If you haven’t noticed, I’m a sucker for surprises at the back. 🙂
You guys have prolly seen Alyssa Yu’s name pop up on this blog, for more times than you can remember. First, she takes a lot of my great outfit shots, she happens to be my favorite ootd photographer. Second, she is actually one of my closest friends in college. So yeah, those are the main reasons she appears a lot on this blog. 🙂
In my opinion, she’s a really pretty girl, don’t you agree? She has huge potential in the modelling industry, because she has the looks, she’s tall, and has the model physique. With all that said, you can just imagine the excitement I felt for her when she told me she was walking for SM Ladies’ Fashion during the recently concluded Belle De Jour Fair. Being the supportive friend that I am, I volunteered to take her runway photos. 🙂 So one Sunday evening, I found myself rushing to SM MoA to get to the fashion show on time.
We arrived a bit late into the evening, so most of the booths in the fair didn’t accept any more participants. I was a bit disappointed, since I was a BDJ Power Planner user too, but anyhoo, I got to buy the 2013 planner for 20% off anyway, so who am I to complain?
My friend Euna Lodripas (she modeled for Peaches On Top, too, if you think she looks familiar), also walked for the fashion show
I forgot who the one in the middle was, but during the show, you could see that she was the one oozing with the most confidence, despite her curvy figure.
I bumped into my old friend Isa Romualdez too, we used to take dance classes together in Julie Borromeo’s studio, now, she works at the marketing dept. for SM MoA.
Here’s Alyssa’s sister Via on stage cause she won in the raffle! I won a bracelet from Michelis too. 🙂
A shot of the very fit belly dancers. 🙂
Ate dinner with Alyssa’s family at Bulgogi Brothers after.
