Help! I cannot make up my mind!

Hi guys! I need your help on this one, because I’ve been thinking about this for a few days now, and I still can’t decide!

Here’s the thing, I can only get one item from, I’ve narrowed my list to these top 3 choices, and now I’m stuck. I don’t know which item I’m going to get! Help me by leaving a comment on which one I should get?? Pretty pretty please?

1. Aztec Enamel Necklace– I find this really pretty, but I’m not sure it’s the one πŸ™‚

2.Cat Eye Sunnies– I’ve been itching to get a pair ever since Alyssa told me about Mango’s past season cat eye sunnies. When I saw photos online, I was on the lookout for one of these. The downside? I’m not sure if it will fit my face shape?

3.Prada-esque Swirl Sunnies – I almost bought a pair like these from Nava, because I love a nice pair of oversized sunnies, and the swirl detail is too cute, but, I still don’t know.

So you see, I desperately need your help! Comment and let me know? πŸ™‚

P.S. It’s the last day for submission of entries for my giveaway tomorrow, have you joined yet?

The Perfect Paire

It was date day Saturday for me last week. The day started out really bad, with me missing my 7am class because I overslept. Bad. But anyway, I wanted to cheer myself up so I asked Z if he wanted to consume the coupons we purchased online for Mexican Express. Being the big Mexican food fan that he is, he immediately agreed and off we went to Timog Ave.

The food was great, you know the drill, food photos and review after the read more jump! πŸ™‚

After lunch, I convinced him to eat dessert at Paire, a quaint little cafe I’ve always wanted to try but never got to, because Timog is rather far for a Manila girl like me. But since Paire was just a block away, we went ahead and tried their bestseller, and boy were we pleased. I would definitely recommend Paire to everyone who likes great cocktails, and scrumptious desserts. πŸ™‚

But before anything else, outfit shots first! (more photos later! and details at the end of the post :))

Don’t you just love love love the back detail on this one? I especially love the cascading ruffle detail from the v-cut to the bottom of the top. The Terranova tube dress was sooo perfect with the top, I swear when I tried them on, I was, oh gosh I love it. HAHAHAHA.

Moving on, let me introduce you to, Mexican Express!

I was wondering where I’ve seen these chairs before, then I remembered that they used to have a branch in the University Mall near DLSU.

Nacho Grande Php 110 – definitely worth it, generous toppings, and the jalapeno was everywhere, huge points for that.

Chili Con Carne Php 85 – not bad for its low price, I was definitely looking for a much stronger kick though. But it was good nonetheless

Add ons: Jalapeno and Salsa

Super Taco Php 129 – This thing was huge! Thanks Gena for recommending this πŸ™‚ It has all the great makings of a good taco, the right proportions of beef, chili, veggies, and cheese! So yeah, I enjoyed it. πŸ™‚

Super Burrito Php 129 – I guess I was expecting a bigger one? But anyway, since the price was cheap compared to other burrito selling establishments, it wasn’t much of a letdown. We ordered the chicken one, and it was okay, not exceptional, but satisfying.

And for dessert: Ice Cream Wrap Php 60 – this sort of reminded me of Fried Ice Cream because the Wrap was deep fried. LOL. but I loved the ice cream, my type of vanilla ice cream. πŸ™‚ And the almonds went perfectly with it πŸ™‚

Next stop: Paire Cocktails and Pastries

This would prolly be the highlight of this post since I really had a great time here! The staff was amazing, the service was more than I could for, and the food was great πŸ™‚ Not to mention, the place was so picture perfect!

What we got, their bestseller, Class A- Almond Slice + Amaretto Sour (cocktail)

I love love love love love this dessert! I swear by it! If I were going back to Paire anytime soon, I would order it again! The pastry was not too sweet, just right, and it was moist, and chewy, with all the goodness of a wonderful piece of pastry. Ahh! so good. πŸ™‚ And the Amaretto Sour was perfect with it! And you know how I am with booze, I drink, but not often, just social drinking. Cocktails are usually my best friends because they’re light and won’t get you drunk easy, unless you really have a weak tummy. Amaretto Sour happens to be on my good cocktails list, along with Screwdriver, Weng Weng, Tequila Sunrise and Ponti’s Azzuri.

Now for those with strong tummy’s you can go there and enjoy their cocktail night fever! if I wasn’t busy that week, I would have invited a few friends there and had fun. So many choices, for a really good price. πŸ™‚

Isn’t it such a great place to hang out with your friends?

I was thinking Breakfast at Tiffany’s for this shot, pwede na ba?

Sheer Mullet Top with Back Cutout: Monkee Business | Sweetheart Tube Dress: Terranova | Belt: Mango | Arm party: Bedazzle Accessories | Shoes: Christian Siriano for Payless | Bag: Longchamp Paris

And before I end this, shout out to my girlfriends who spent the night in a Horror flick fest. It was a semi-fail, but t’was fun nonetheless πŸ™‚

Great Finds and Great Grub

I went to the La Feria de Agosto Bazaar last Friday to meet two of the awesome sponsors of this blog. Because the bazaar highly encouraged Pinoy made products, I thought I should wear a few things proudly Pinoy made. The blazer for example, is sewn by Teena Tan of Sabrina, while my wedges were custom made in Marikina, as requested by my mom. Top from Cotton On, Pants from Gelibean Couture.

I met Lilly of Blacklotus Corner (Add them on Facebook !), talked, and she gave me something for a giveaway! Stay tuned! Plus, I’ll be blogging about her shop in one my The It List Project posts. πŸ™‚ You should really transact with her, not only does she sell items in affordable prices, everything she sells is proudly Pinoy made too! Not to mention, she’s really nice as well! Such a great person to meet, and inspiring too πŸ™‚

I also dropped by the Bedazzle Accessories booth, hoping to take a photo with the owner Cat, but when I got there, she had trooped somewhere else to grab a bite to eat. Her helper assisted me instead, and again I got another lootbag, the contents of which I will post soon!!

Tuna and Salmon Sashimi, part of the Seafood Bento in Omakase

After roaming around the bazaar, we ate at Omakase, since the restaurant was also at Ayala Triangle Garden, where the bazaar was also held. I’ve been eating at Omakase for years now, but it’s my first time eating in this branch, as I usually eat at their Greenhills branch. if you get to try Omakase anytime soon, you should order their Spider Maki, it’s my all time favorite sushi there! LOL (photo of the said sushi after the jump)

the Spinach and Artichoke dip was very good, much like the ones in Cibo!

Pitaka Tarp Wallets, I got myself the Laking Maynila one! Didn’t get the UP/Peyups themed one because I think I have too much UP memorabilia already. Too much Iskolar ng Bayan spirit!

Spotted the Simone’s Closet booth too!

I really wanted to try their Smore’s cookie, πŸ™

Look at all the handmade ethnic bags! Pinoy Pride screaming from floor to ceiling of this booth!

Now onto the food photos!

Miso soup inclusive in the Seafood Bento Box

Tofu Steak! Being a huge fan of tofu, I highly recommend this dish to everyone! LOL. The tofu is rolled inside a very thin slice of very very very juicy beef, the sliced to perfection. Drools.

Seafood Bento Box

aaaaand, let’s not forget, the Spider Maki!! It’s essentially a Soft Shell Crab roll, but it’s soooooooooo good!

Peg ko ‘tong calendar girl, what do you think?

But first, what did I wear? I thought I’d wear a very comfortable set of clothes, but go the girly route to veer away from the dark vibe of gun shooting. So I stuck with the happiest colors, yellow and pink!

Cardigan and Shorts: Mango | Camisole : Zara | Shoes: Payless | | bag: Charles & Keith

My friends and I are fans of online coupon/voucher sites. Being the adventurous lot that we are, we purchased this Basic Gun shooting deal from Groupon. We got a great price too, each of us just spent 385 pesos when the normal rate would be around 1.2k pesos! Talk about savings!

Anyhoo, here are the essential gear we were told to don: goggles and earmuffs (the professional kind), and of course, the gun. We decided on using guns in the 9 mm caliber range. the guns, 4 total, which you will get to see a photo of later πŸ™‚

I was the first one to go! I shall never forget the feeling of that first recoil, it was scary as hell, but amazing at the same time!

The steady. correct grip. Each of us was given 50 bullets to use each. Mind you, shooting was very tiring, so it was a very good idea to alternate with your friends while shooting, so you can rest in between rounds. At a round, 10 bullets are already quite tiring to fire. Especially for a weakling like I am, the force of the whole firing experience is tiring, so every after each round, I would really rest my arms and hands.

So, if you take this photo and compare it to the first photo of this post, you would laugh. harhar. Dang my face looks horrible here. This was taken at the time when I was still unsure with what I was doing. So the 1st photo was actually taken at the time when I was rather confident, calm and collected with every shot.

the guns, with a pair of goggles.

Take these four rules seriously!

Presenting, our targets! L-R: Mine, Michelle’s, Fran’s, Alyssa’s (Alyssa, you sharpshooter you.)

Me, Fran

Alyssa, Michelle

Feeling Charlie’s Angels LOL

Michelle you so cute!

with the infant armalite! I felt so badass! (pardon the haggard look, lack of sleep+ no make up = haggard)

Fran more badass, two guns!

We decided to have lunch at Napoli’s Timog after, then headed to Cara Mia Tomas Morato for dessert! We got to take advantage of their buy one take one anniversary deal too!

Rainy Day Dressing + Zalora Fundraiser

It’s that time of the year again, when monsoons come and go, as often as they please. In light of the past gloomy weather, I just felt like sharing what knowledge I have when it comes to Rainy Day Dressing.

But before I present to you my style tips and the whole shebang, I’m inviting everyone to attend Zalora’s Fashion Fights the Flood Fundraiser happening this Wednesday!

Now onto the purpose of this post πŸ™‚ For a preview on what this post will be about, take a look at my usual ensemble during this cold weather. πŸ™‚ (hype it on lookbook too!!)

Rainy days are deemed as cuddle weather, momol weather, bed weather, etc, but for me it mostly sets an unproductive state of mind. So I came to think of ways to distract or cheer up the mood, so I won’t be able to instantly succumb to the comforts of lounging around due to the very cozy weather. One of these ways, which I have discovered to be quite effective, is dressing up in themes of bright colors or happy moods. You’ll see later, that I have a huge attachment to color, especially in this weather where drab colors are predominant. πŸ™‚

So, what exactly do I think should comprise you rainy weather wardrobe?

1. Footwear

Boots are soooo in nowadays, they get you through relief operations, but most importantly, they assure that you don’t contract any diseases like leptospirosis when you walk through puddles on your way home.

(L-R) Union Jack Boots from, Rainbooties from Zalora, and zebra print boots from Ferreted

It’s amazing how boots nowadays come in a variety of colors and designs, not only are they practical, but they have evolved into fashionable items as well. Now, if you’re not too bold to get yourself a printed pair, you can opt to wear the more boring but less intimidating solid colored ones, like these babies below.

All Boots from Feet For A Queen

2. Clothing

When picking clothes, I always think that I have to wear something lazy, comfy and casual, but with a punch. I usually start with a basic sweater, then pair it up with a colored/printed bottom, or vise versa. For me, rainy day dressing should look effortless, hence the laid back natural look.

Loose Salmon Top from Chick Flick Collection, Long Sleeve Sweaters from Ombre Vintage

Leggings and tights go very well with boots, and they offer coverage with the plus point of being lightweight. Leggings, therefore, are a must in your wardrobe.

Now, if your more of a shorts girl and like to expose more skin, you can go with shorts, so that when you have to walk in the flooded streets, you don’t have to fold your pants, but let’s hope that it won’t get that flooded. But just in case, these pretty printed shorts are a great option.

All Bottoms from

I love a good structured blazer, especially one in a fun color! If you don’t like wearing sweaters and prefer wearing a tank top underneath a cardigan/blazer/jacket/coat, a blazer is a great option. It’s very fashionable, and functional at the same time. You can take it off anytime you want when you feel a little too warm, so outerwear is definitely a great investment. See my picks below? they’re all in yummy colors! Notice the blue one? It’s actually a raincoat, with polka dot lining, adorbs!!

All blazers/coats from

3. Accessories

Still afraid of prints and color? fret not, you can still add oomph, with accessories of course!

First up, bags. If you can, don’t use leather bags in this weather, water destroys the goodness of genuine leather, shortening the supposed longlife of really good quality leather bags. Trust me, I know. Stick to bags with materials that will not be affected by rain, like rubber, plastic, or even synthetic patent.

Transparent Bags from Miss Sartorial

Scarves are a great way to amp up your look too, since a printed scarf take all the attention away from a plain outfit. Just make sure that if your scarf is too loud, you outfit is either in neutral tone, or in the same color family as your scarf.

All scarves from

If you hate the restriction scarves give to your neck, stick to statement necklaces like the ones below. πŸ™‚

Necklaces in white background from Fad District, in gray background from Bedazzled Accessories

And lastly, let’s not forget our umbrellas! Check out these cute polka dot ones!

Umbrellas from Zalora

Let me know if I made any sense, or if this was useful at all. πŸ™‚

How about you, how do you dress during rainy season?

Chicisimo is somewhat like, it’s also an outfit sharing platform, but it’s more fun since you get to earn badges, where each badge corresponds to an achievement! πŸ™‚

Zombies, Rain, and S’mores

Well, not exactly. πŸ™‚ It’s pretty obvious who just participated in the recent Outbreak Manila, me!!! I ran with my awesome college friends Alyssa, Angelica, Michelle, and Marky. Fran and LJ were there too, but just as spectators.

So what can I say about the experience?

IT WAS TOTALLY FUN AND EXHILARATING! I swear! You have to be in the moment though, you really have to think that scary zombies are blocking your path to feel the rush!

What’s more, I survived with 2 life flags left! ACHIEVEMENT! Wooooooh, now if a zombie invasion really did happen, I might just survive. πŸ™‚ 2 life flags!! tumbles. πŸ™‚

And to reward ourselves for the tiring but highly enjoyable run, we made s’mores!!!

The people I went with, minus Alyssa!!!

Say hello to the corpse bride!! she looked scary. There was another really scary looking one though, the zombie with the long dreadlocks, sadly Fran wasn’t able to get a photo.

Runners frantically trying to get past the zombies while protecting their life flags!

This injured girl got piggybacked by a Zombie to the medic station

Since Fran wasn’t able to participate, she took pictures with the idle zombies instead!

Zombie makeup. Fran said the Coke bottles contained the fake blood. πŸ™‚

After the race! with the cute Mogu Mogu mascot. πŸ™‚

Michelle and I. Running buddies!

After we got back to Angelica’s condo (we were having a sleepover!), I badly wanted to take a bath. We actually ran even when it rained. Our wave was wave 19, which started at 9pm. Lucky us, it started raining really hard when 9pm came! πŸ™ Anyway, the rain actually added to the adrenaline rush since the zombie apocalypse somehow felt more real. haha If you noticed, both Michelle’s and my hair were drenched in some of the photos.

While everyone took turns using the shower, Alyssa got busy making S’mores!

Alyssa photobombing Fran’s s’mores eating fest

Bedtime!! We slept at around 3 am already. Talk about having such a great time just talking about love and life that we didn’t notice the time!

now for the sponsored photos!

Thank you Fran for the photos!
