Month: January 2012

Buns, Spins, and Whatnot

Today happens to be a hectic Sunday:

  • I went with my kid brother to my high school alma mater’s annual school fair
  • took tons of photos with stuff from my blog sponsors
  • and studying for my biotechnology exam tomorrow whilst editing this post.
  • not to mention studying for my other exams this week

first up, a post on Spin Pins! you might remember me posting about how I won their Simple Styles giveaway early this month, and so to profess my love for these babies, I shall be posting a how-to entry.

Step1. Gather your hair into a ponytail, no ponytail holder needed.

Step 2. Twist your hair into a bun

Step 3. Tuck ends.

Step 4. Spin one pin from the base of the bun.

Step 5. Spin the other pin from the top of the bun, make sure that both pins don’t intertwine.

and voila! a SpinPin Bun!

The It List Project: My Angel’s Box

Heaven sent, these were the first words that came into mind when I found My Angel’s Box in multiply. They have a little bit of everything, stuff for you, your sister, your niece, which is why it’s such a delight to browse their items. πŸ™‚

When you get to their Multiply site, you may think that the layout’s too simple, onΒ  the contrary, it works just fine. The navigation is very user friendly, and if you don’t like to browse everything, you can just pick a category, and you’ll be directed to a filter of related tags.

For a sneak peek at what thing’s you’ll find there, here are my top choices:

Dress with Faux Leather Panel Php1595

Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Highlighter Blush Duo- On Sale for Php 320

Urban Decay Naked 2 Eye Palette – Php 3200

Brown Suede Lace up Platforms – Php 1950

Black Lace Up Flatforms with Animal Print Sole – Php 1595

Since my wardrobe is currently accumulating an increasing number of animal print items, why not add footwear to the mix, yes? πŸ™‚

Japanese Doll Pearl Bracelet – Php200

This bracelet is so kawaii! Too cute for my own good. harhar.

Sneakers – Php 1450

For some reason, this pair reminds me of one of my favorite books, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden πŸ™‚

They also sell Bath and Body Works products, bags, plus a few toys as well, didn’t I say they have a little bit of everything? πŸ™‚

You can find My Angel’s Box in:

To end this note, I’m so glad to announce that My Angel’s Box is also a sponsor for my giveaway next month, so stay tuned! They just sent me Revlon bronzers and blushes, plus a few discount coupons! πŸ™‚

and oh, a new blog layout is in the works πŸ™‚

Favorite Things

Oh my, how my week went by in a blur. College is eating me alive again!!!! So before my hell week ensues, I’ll be leaving you with a few queued posts to keep this blog updated. πŸ™‚

First up, trying to pull in good vibes for the crazy week ahead, I’m showing you a few of my current favorite things. πŸ™‚

The Face Shop Flebeaute Mineral Loose Powder

This is the best loose powder ever. LOL. In my opinion anyway, it blends into my skin perfectly πŸ™‚

The Face Shop Magic Cover BB Cream

The packaging is different from what we have in local The Face Shop outlets as my mom bought this during her last trip to Korea. When In Korea, hoard their makeup! My mom got a huge loot in really low prices compared to what’s offered in our country.

Anyway, i love BB creams because they are a foundation, a concealer and a sunblock all in one tube. I bypass my sunblock when i use this. Plus it’s easy to apply, not too fluid, nor sticky.

Nyx Round Lipstick in Black Cherry

Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss Neo BE24B

And hello to my newest lip combo! the awesome Majolica Majorca gloss is love! Thank you to my dear friend Meryl for giving it as a gift. πŸ™‚ As for the lipstick, well, I was a bit hesitant at first, but when I used it, I was hooked!

SleepCare Travel Organizer

This cutesie kit was given to me as a Christmas gift by another friend, Adrianne, and I love it to bits! Can’t say cute, fashionable, and functional enough!

Sheer Leopard Print Turtle Neck and Sheer Peter Pan Collared Polka Dot Top, both from Zara

Blue Chiffon Polo with Leopard Print Details, Noel Bazaar

And for my recent splurges, these tops! I actually got the polka dot top on sale for around 2K++, but what the hell, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it on display in Zara Greenbelt 5, it was too expensive at first, but when it was on the sale rack, I bought it.

As for the blue top, I’ve been itching to buy it from romwe.com, but a few days after, I found it at the Noel bazaar for a lower price! So yeah, I’m a happy shopper. πŸ™‚

The best thing about January? The post season sales! i swear I’ve bought from all my favorite stores already. Think Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Zara, Mango, etc. with no less than 2 items from each! And yes, I am broke. LOL

Also, I’ve added to my resolutions that I should buy only at most 1 pair of shoes per month. You see I just bought a new pair on sale from Parisian yesterday, hence the addition. I hope I keep it!

The It List Project: House of Manila

I’ve always been a sucker for anything dainty, floral, and classic, so imagine my joy when I found this shop called House of Manila.

When on their website, you’ll be greeted by a clean layout with a paisley background, but don’t be fooled. The simplicity only draws you in, and when you get to their collections, you’ll get a wide array of clothing, perfect for the young girl who loves to dress up.

House of Manila is owned by lovely girls Lady Reyes and Kara Kajiro. These two passionate girls decided to turn their love of fashion into a promising business venture.

True to its mission-vision, the brand carries high quality apparel embodying the essence of a vibrant young adult, unique, glamorous, bold and edgy, all at the same time. They offer beautiful classic silhouettes with modern twists, catering to the needs of every 21st century Pinay.

Their pieces are extremely wearable, not to mention affordable too! πŸ™‚

Here my two favorite pieces from their collection:

Icona Dieci Skirt from the Icona Di Belleza Collection – Php 750

This mullet skirt is so IN right now!

Teena Cutout Dress – Php 850, don’t you just love the surprise at the back?

Plus a few more items that might interest you:

House of Manila is on:

But wait! There’s more! House of Manila was generous enough to give me a free shipping coupon to one of my readers at my upcoming birthday giveaway. The winner will receive a corresponding coded gift certificate when the giveaway ends. I just posted the general copy.

Note that this is only one of the many prizes you may get, so tune in for updates! πŸ™‚

*I’m so excited. teehee.*

The It List Project

In the tradition of hit lists, hot lists, checklists, catalogue, compedia and whatnot, I shall be presenting to you one of my new projects for this blog, entitled, The It List Project.

Basically it’s going to be a series of features of all the shops I love, both online and physical ones.

Some of them will be sponsored, and will be tagged as such, while some are just the ones where I can’t stop coming back for more. πŸ™‚

Stay tuned!!

P.S. Some of the shops I’ll be featuring will be sponsoring my birthday giveaway so better be updated! πŸ™‚

Meanwhile, I leave you with a photo of me and my college friends at my pseudo-birthday bash last year πŸ™‚

Sweetheart in Polka Dots

Pardon the dainty title, I couldn’t think of anything else! LOL

Anyway, if you’re a fan of mine on lookbook, you’ll notice a slew of new posts whereas this blog remains ignored. I am truly sorry for that, I haven’t had time to update this little chunk of mine from the world wide web.

Oh, and this is just a short post.

A few weeks ago, we had this program in school that was the finale for the year’s activities, as my college was celebrating its 100th year of existence last 2011. So here’s what I wore to the said event πŸ™‚

Dress: Robinsons Dept. Store | Belt: Random | Shoes: Matthews by CMG

Here’s Alyssa and I goofing around

and with Fran

Here’s the foursome, Alyssa, Fran, Michelle, and I

Oh, if you’re wondering why “m wearing another set of clothes the in the photo, it was because it was the same day as the Bloggers United 2 event, and I have yet to change. Plus, I had a few performances that night so I brought around 4 sets of clothing for performance purposes only.

After the event, Jam invited me to the after party as it was her birthday. She wanted to celebrate it in a bar, and Kirsten was going to pitch in too, as it was also her very very late post birthday blow-out too. I wasn’t actually prepared to party after, so my extra sets of clothes worked in my advantage! πŸ™‚

We initially wanted to go to Area 05, but sadly, it was closed already when we got there. It was a good thing The Lounge downstairs was open! So we partied there instead. πŸ™‚

Meet Kirsten, and Z

The photo above was taken when the DJ played "Teach Me How to Dougie”. See my intense face right there. haha

A photo with everyone at the afterparty.

Jam and Alyssa

That’s all for tonight, and btw, one of new year’s resolutions is to be a better blogger, so hopefully I keep it! Wish me luck πŸ™‚

P.S. stay tuned for giveaways in my upcoming birthday month. teehee. πŸ™‚
