Being Supportive

You guys have prolly seen Alyssa Yu’s name pop up on this blog, for more times than you can remember. First, she takes a lot of my great outfit shots, she happens to be my favorite ootd photographer. Second, she is actually one of my closest friends in college. So yeah, those are the main reasons she appears a lot on this blog. :)

In my opinion, she’s a really pretty girl, don’t you agree? She has huge potential in the modelling industry, because she has the looks, she’s tall, and has the model physique. With all that said, you can just imagine the excitement I felt for her when she told me she was walking for SM Ladies’ Fashion during the recently concluded Belle De Jour Fair. Being the supportive friend that I am, I volunteered to take her runway photos. :) So one Sunday evening, I found myself rushing to SM MoA to get to the fashion show on time.

Wise Words From the Fashion Blogging Power Couple

Love Chic gamely posing for a couple ootd shot :)

I love blogging, and one of the things I love about it is meeting new people. Aside from increasing your contacts and reaching out to more people, you get to learn from new friends too. This is why I always make it a point to attend events such as the Fashion Blogging Workshop (which you might remember from this post) hosted by Schu & Myth Boutique.

This time, I was able to be the lucky few to get lessons from the country’s Fashion Blogging Power Couple: Seph and Shai of Love Chic. One tip that stood out for me from the whole workshop was: Having a genuinely nice attitude.

A Celebration of Art, Fashion, Food and Music

A young crowd gathered at Mercato Centrale a few weeks ago, to celebrate fashion, food, music and art all in one night. It was TOMS Good Folk Fest, where proceeds will go to TOMS’ “One for One” Movement, by which WE International is a beneficiary.

If you remember, I already invited everyone to come to the event with this post, and now I’m going to give you guys, (those who weren’t there anyway), a run through of the amazing things that happened that night :)

The beautiful and talented Nicole Andersson (photo above) hosted the gig, I honestly never knew how great her hosting skills were until this event, so I was pleasantly surprised. :)

Each guest’s pass/ticket came with these coupon cards that you could exchange for discounts or freebies! Discounts + Freebies, that sounds so great for a bargain seeker like me! And spot the cute Good Folk Fest Cupcakes too! (cupcakes by: Little Bites)

the HUGE BONUS: Seeing fab bloggers Laureen Uy, Camille Co, and Patricia Prieto there, in support of their good friend Nicole! On another note, Mike Concepcion, the new etcHQ host, was actually also there, prolly ‘cause etc was a sponsor, and boy was he tall. O.O. midget like I am stands no chance. LOL.

And because we were already in the middle of Midnight Mercato, might as well have a look around and have a mini food trip! :) (In photo: scrumptious Wagyu Paella, you can never go wrong with Wagyu! even if its a bit pricey:))

Pastels, Mints, and Windy Getaways

I went to Tagaytay last long weekend with the friends I can’t live without. :) They are my high school barkada, the girls I’ve grown up with and love like family. :)

We started the day with going to Breakfast at Antonio’s, then to the fine dining part that is Antonio’s, then to Tagaytay Highlands for the rest of the day.

Antonio’s is incredibly photogenic, which is why we took quite a number of shots in the place. :)

Kim’s Schublig Sausage & Scrambled Eggs Php 395 - He says this was very good, and the hash brown was cooked to perfection, crispy and golden :)

meet my high school friends, my soulmates, the girls I can always depend on, L-R Jennifer, Phylicia (me), Adrianne, Meryl

The Perfect Paire

It was date day Saturday for me last week. The day started out really bad, with me missing my 7am class because I overslept. Bad. But anyway, I wanted to cheer myself up so I asked Z if he wanted to consume the coupons we purchased online for Mexican Express. Being the big Mexican food fan that he is, he immediately agreed and off we went to Timog Ave.

The food was great, you know the drill, food photos and review after the read more jump! :)

After lunch, I convinced him to eat dessert at Paire, a quaint little cafe I’ve always wanted to try but never got to, because Timog is rather far for a Manila girl like me. But since Paire was just a block away, we went ahead and tried their bestseller, and boy were we pleased. I would definitely recommend Paire to everyone who likes great cocktails, and scrumptious desserts. :)

Zombies, Rain, and S’mores

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!

Well, not exactly. :) It’s pretty obvious who just participated in the recent Outbreak Manila, me!!! I ran with my awesome college friends Alyssa, Angelica, Michelle, and Marky. Fran and LJ were there too, but just as spectators.

So what can I say about the experience?

IT WAS TOTALLY FUN AND EXHILARATING! I swear! You have to be in the moment though, you really have to think that scary zombies are blocking your path to feel the rush!

What’s more, I survived with 2 life flags left! ACHIEVEMENT! Wooooooh, now if a zombie invasion really did happen, I might just survive. :) 2 life flags!! tumbles. :)

And to reward ourselves for the tiring but highly enjoyable run, we made s’mores!!!

Fridates & Family Time

Gavino’s Gummy Bear Donut

I love going places, and hanging out with great people. Fridates, that’s what I call it anyway, are Fridays when I go out with the most amazing people, because well, I don’t have any classes scheduled on Fridays, as I really wanted my Fridays free. one particular fridate, I hung out with one of my bros from another mother, Vonn. Seriously, if I wasn’t his friend, I would think he was gay, he just has sooooo many things to say about the female physique, and beauty in general. But yeah, as much as he is my gay friend, he is actually straight, so there. LOL. Vonn, if you ever read this, don’t kill me. FALALALA

We had lunch at Greenhills Towncenter, at Red Buffalo, then headed to Gavino’s for dessert. After eating, we went to Greenhills to get my new phone a screen protector, Happy Lemon, and a bit of shopping. To be honest, I missed Vonn, and we had a lot of catching up to do, so I had a lot of fun. Till the next one bro!

After dinner, my family went to BGC because my brother Nate had to claim his membership thing/poker chip at Titan Burgos Circle. I had to crop by Bar Dolci for some macarons, then mi familia headed to Bonifacio High Street for a bit of shopping, hanging out at Fully Booked, and snacks.

So there, that pretty much sums up one of my usual fridates. :) (Details with the photos after the jump :))

P.S. to the anon who asked which high school I graduated from, it’s Saint Jude Catholic School (referring to the same HS with Camille Co perhaps?).

P.P.S. Grab the latest issue of Candy Magazine, you’ll see me at the All The Rage spread!

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings - definitely good for Chicken Wings, not dry, but not too oily either. The garlic parmesan was great too, especially if you’re a fan of the cheese

Bar Dolci Dolcitas, I haven’t tried these, but I hear they’re great. :)

Hearts and Just Plain Fun

A few weeks ago, I went out with my college friends Alyssa, Fran, Michelle, Angelica, Marky, and Adson. Ryan, Alyssa’s boyfriend dropped by during lunch at Bulgogi Brothers and watched The Amazing Spiderman movie with us at Greenbelt 3. As we were too full with popcorn during the movie, we decided to skip dinner and head to Spicy Fingers for happy hour! (So that’s about the summary of that awesome day :))

I suggested Bulgogi Brothers (GB5 branch) for lunch, because a) I haven’t tried eating there yet, b) I remember seeing this poster about a rather affordable Lunch Set menu. I know, 895 for two people isn’t exactly affordable for the lay person, but, when you finally get to sink your teeth into their dishes, you’ll agree with me, that the money was worth it. We ordered one each of the three sets, each set included 2 entrees, banchan (appetizers), japchae, rice, and tea. I love Korean food, so it wasn’t hard to convince myself that the food was great.
