Pastels, Mints, and Windy Getaways

I went to Tagaytay last long weekend with the friends I can’t live without. :) They are my high school barkada, the girls I’ve grown up with and love like family. :)

We started the day with going to Breakfast at Antonio’s, then to the fine dining part that is Antonio’s, then to Tagaytay Highlands for the rest of the day.

Antonio’s is incredibly photogenic, which is why we took quite a number of shots in the place. :)

Kim’s Schublig Sausage & Scrambled Eggs Php 395 - He says this was very good, and the hash brown was cooked to perfection, crispy and golden :)

meet my high school friends, my soulmates, the girls I can always depend on, L-R Jennifer, Phylicia (me), Adrianne, Meryl

Beal decided that we each had to have a solo shot with our ordered food, so here they go. :)

Me with my Pork Barbecue & Peanut Rice Php 300 - I honestly thought my dish was good, the barbecue actually reminded me of Thai satay. The rice was good though, I never thought peanut and a bit of oregano would make rice taste so good!

I also ordered a Homemade Yoghurt with Lemon Curd for Php 95, which you will see later in this post

Jen with her Fresh Corned Beef and Eggs Php 400 - I tasted this, and boy was I surprised. I can actually say that this is the best corned beef I’ve ever tasted. Well, given the price of it, it should be of top notch quality. It was juicy, and not too salty, but with all the savory goodness of beef. Definitely a must try when you go there :)

Meryl with her Chorizo Bilbao and Eggs Php 400 - I tasted this as well, and being the chorizo hater that I am, I actually found it acceptable. haha. I really don’t like chorizo, especially the Spanish ones, but it was good. Meryl didn’t like it too much either, but Jen said she liked it too.

Aa with her Roesti (US Beef) Php 450 and Kim with his Schublig

Beal with his Beef Tapa & Eggs Php 390 - Beal simply said it was really an upscale version of the tapsilog. It wasn’t dry because a healthy amount of fat was with the beef.

my pork barbecue! The orange perfectly complemented the meat!

Homemade yoghurt with lemon curd topping- At first, I thought the yoghurt was too sour, but then again, what do you expect with lemon? but when I mixed it thoroughly, there was actually sweet curd, which did great for my already tart tongue!

Chorizooo

the BEST corned beef, ever.

Adrianne’s Roesti Php 450 - Roesti is actually Crisp Potato pancake, with your choice of meat, in Aa’s case, US Beef, with Eggs, and served with Panini. Aa says this was very good, and the potato was cooked perfectly. The potato wasn’t soggy at all, given that she ate hers very slowly. Aa happens to eat the slowest in our barkada, with me and Meryl being the fastest.

You might be wondering how a bunch of students, plus a fresh grad (Meryl just graduated from ADMU last March), can afford to eat at such an upscale restaurant. How? with an online deal of course! I purchased this coupon from Metrodeal that gets us 50% of the food. HAHA. I purchased the 1200 for 2400 worth of food for 6 people coupon, hence the 400 pesos range in the prices of the food we ordered. HAHA. in short, each of us paid for 200 pesos, for the 400 worth of food each. yay for great deals!

We met up as a despedida for Meryl, she’s going to Shanghai for a language course, for 1 year. In short, vacation for her! Haha. We actually learn to speak, read and write in Mandarin in high school, but this trip would serve as a refresher course for her since we don’t get to practice speaking Mandarin once we get to college.

Outfit shot! thanks to Adrianne for taking this photo!

Top: Monkee Business | Shorts & Belt: Mango | Bag: Longchamp | Shoes: Call It Spring | Necklace: Bedazzle Accessories | Cardigan (the one in my hand): Zara

What did I tell you! The place is photogenic!

Next stop, Tagaytay Highlands! Both Beal (Jen’s boyfie) and Kim (Aa’s boyfie) are members there, typical of Xavier boys. hoho.

Got to try mini golf for the first time!

We played in teams of two, of course, Meryl and I played as a team, since the lovebirds are automatic teammates.

Kim and Aa won. haha.

I’m very lucky to have friends like these guys, we’ve literally been friends for more than 10 years now, 11 years to be exact. We may not be always together, usually meeting for only a few times in a year, but we’ll always be in each other’s hearts, supporting each other, all the way. As Elizabeth Foley puts it, “The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.” I LOVE YOU GUYS. :)

We ate snacks in the Sports Center in Highlands, then headed back to Manila with a pitstop in Nuvali. There, I bought my mom a cake from Purple Oven since it was also her birthday that day. :)

When we got to manila, they dropped me off at Napoli’s Pizzeria Timog Ave. because that’s where my family was going to meet me for my mom’s birthday dinner.

I only took a photo of the pizza, since we were so hungry we ate the pasta in a flash. HAHAHAHA. Everyone should go and eat at Napoli, the food is always so yummy, and at cheap prices too!! Big servings as well, :)

Happy Birthday Ma!

Photos by Me, Aa or Beal, taken with either my camera, or Kim’s awesome DSLR. :)
